What’s in a name

When I originally set up in this business, back on the 7th August 2013, I thought long and hard about the name I would call the business. It was important that a chosen name identified with the business model and told a little story as well. It wouldn’t be just any business name. It would have a personal meaning. Something that linked closely to me and my heritage. I’m a Welshman from South Wales in the UK.

It’s all too easy these days to jump on the bandwagon and pick a name that is closely linked to a successful business in the hope of scrounging on someone else’s reputation. I wouldn’t do that. I sat down and thought about the whole thing in detail. Not just the name, but the Logo as well. I used my brains and creative imagination to come up with a name that meant something to me and reflected a little of my heritage.

The name Evolution is all really about myself, and how over my career of some 37 years, showed how I have Evolved. The symbol/ logo is a Celtic Knot and having been born in the great Country of Wales, in the UK, I wanted a symbol that showed a little something of my heritage, The Celtic knot is a perfect example of this and shows my connections and ties with my homeland.

My Career

I left school at the age of 16 and went into the Electronics service industry. I engaged in further education whilst employed and learnt the skills and knowledge that would allow me to advance within a company. I climbed the corporate ladder and after some 15 years in the industry had been allowed to manage a small department, and later entire divisions. Not just nationally, but internationally as well. I worked for many high-profile Multinational companies, guiding my teams on various manufacturing and service processes. A key part of all of this was overseeing the processes and ensuring world-class levels of Quality Control. There is always a cost associated with getting it wrong. No matter what the process.
